Phoenix rising

Sedum

Sarcococca

My garden looks neglected. Artichoke leaves, once tall and smokey green have wilted into a slimy mess. Perennial stalks and flowers are brown and dry. There's a general dirth of colour.
Despite this barrenness, surprisingly, things are growing and flowering. There's a sweet smell that seems to be coming from the sarcococca, now blooming with white feathery blooms, and bright green sedum florets are clustering low on the ground, waiting for warmer weather.
Everything grows.
